More Contacts = More Opportunities
CBC is a networking organisation, our members really do interact internally and externally, with one another and for one another. By learning about each other’s business, we can effectively represent each other in the business world. Our members actively look for opportunities to recommend CBC colleagues wherever there is a possibility of work in that colleague’s line of business. No hard – or even soft – selling takes place, merely contacts made and introductions effected.
Our weekly meetings are Formal, Flexible and Fun
Like a lot of business networking our weekly Thursday morning meeting is our core activity, so we make sure it is run smoothly and professionally managed. At the same time good humour is positively encouraged. Meetings are business-like and convivial in equal measure – and members and visitors leave with a positive day in sight, with business opportunities and a full English breakfast to set them on their way!
A packed, productive morning
Come rain, snow or shine at 6.45 am we arrive at Edgeley Park where members catch up on the week and networking begins over a welcoming cup of tea and coffee. A full English breakfast is served and we then take our seats, and fill our glasses with fresh orange juice and pass the toast. We refill our cups ready for a welcome and introduction to CBC from the Chair.
We start the CBC business with the exchange of business cards. Keeping our members up to date with their colleagues cards so they have them to hand to give out to their contacts and people they meet. During this time our members have their one minute to spin it – This is an opportunity for each of us, as members to remind the group what we do, talk about what’s new since the previous week and particularly what sort of introductions we are looking for. A golden opportunity to spread the word, and promote our businesses to a friendly, receptive audience.
Our guests are then given the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses.
Business Introductions
The highlight of the meeting, where we pass on contact details for businesses who are looking to use the services of other members. These are specific, confirmed leads that in the great majority of cases result in great business being done. Then onto the Membership Co-ordinator’s Report, an update on CBC’s own “internal business”. Followed by the marketing team who update us about our up and coming events and activity.
What else goes on at CBC
Three times a month at our breakfast meetings our members have 10 minutes to present to their colleagues and visitors present. This is a special opportunity for one member of CBC to present in more detail the services, benefits and information on their business. Information and entertainment guaranteed!
Visitors Days
Once a month we hold a day just for New Visitors. We spend more time with you to introduce you to our members and give you the opportunity to see what CBC is all about. For details on our next visitor’s day email our Membership Co-ordinator.
