CBC Vs All Stars Charity Football Match Report

County Business Club a local business networking group based in Stockport scored a fantastic result when they played The All stars Team on Saturday 4th July 2009 at Woodley FC. Their goal was to raise as much money as they could to support and raise awareness of The Steve Landells Memorial Fund (Partnership with Christies Hospital) Christies Hospital Charity Fund.

The days results ended in a win to The All Stars Team, however, a staggering amount of nearly £6,000 was raised.

Events organisers Linda Hayward and Mary Gibbons from County Business Club said “A massive thank you to The All Stars, our very own County Business Club Players and everyone who donated and gave their own personal time to make the event the success it was. Local businessmen and Jim Gannon the manager from Stockport County Football Club put on their boots and faced the celebrities of TV, from Coronation Street together with their team mates from Hollyoaks, Shameless and Emmerdale.

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all members who contributed in any way to Saturday’s Charity Match, for once we didn’t get wet, we all nearly had sun stroke.

The feed back we have had has been fantastic, everyone who attended seemed to enjoy themselves.
